About a month ago I had the power supply changed on my Samsung 32″ that I bought almost 3 yrs ago. It got fried by a lightning strike in Tampa. Thankfully I had bought the warrenty for the set and they came and replaced the PS. Hadn’t really watched much TV on it since they fixed it. I did notice how it never did look that great but then again it was regular cable nothing HD. I finally decided to move the set into the living room and connect it to my old PC that I just changed motherboard and CPU. I quickly noticed something is wrong! Their is a dark dim bar on the top of the screen. It’s as if the backlight isn’t working on the top of the screen. Not to mention I’ve noticed a small line of dead pixels.

I’m really hoping that those two problems will qualify for a replacement. When a set has 3 problems it falls under the lemon law. I paid a HUGE amount for this 32″ back then, $1600! I paid a tad bit more for my 40″ 7 series earlier this year. I really hope if they replace it they give me a credit close to $1600 to spend or replace it with a 5 series 32″ and NOT like the 3 series. What I’d really want is another 40″. Not to mention my 7 series isn’t really preforming to the best of its abilities considering I still see a bit of jutter when AMP is off. I’ve heard Samsung has been replacing people who complain about their 71 series enough with the new 650 or 750! It’s just a matter of do I really want to deal with that BS and constant struggle. Maybe I’ll get ahold of my local Samsung Rep that I was close with when I worked at Circuit City.

Sometimes its worth buying the Warrenty and glad I did for the 32″. Also on my 40″ 71 series I got the warrenty cheap and already had the screen replaced.
