Vinyl figures have slowly been climbing to the top of my interest and hobbies. I’ve already customized three Munny’s and have more ideas floating around. The popular DIY Munny is what got me into all of this but the real star of the vinyl toys have been Dunny’s. They are being called the best vinyl figure canvas (I personally don’t agree but fair enough).
Dunny’s have mini figures that have been customized by herald designer artist. The mini Dunnys are released in different series. They come in small blind boxes and go for $7. This means you won’t know which figure you’ll receive and adds to the excitement. We’ve been through Series 1, 2, 3, & 4 and others like the LA & French series. Kidrobot which is the company that releases these mini figures has finally announced Series 5. The release date is September 4th 2008.
What is unique about many of the new series is the fact that golden tickets will be scattered all around the boxes. This series there will be 600 golden tickets. If you receive one you have a chance to redeem the ticket for a special limited figure.
Series 5 will feature designs from the following artist: Junko Mizuno, TOOFLY, JMGS//Jellymoon, Huck Gee, Clutter, MISHKA, Reach, MAD, Amanda Visell, Aya Kakeda, JK5, Steven Harrington, Jesse LeDoux, Devilrobots, Frank Kozik, Kathie Olivas, Sneaky Racoon, Mad Barbarians, & Dirty Donny
I know Nikki is a HUGE fan of Junko Mizuno and will most likely buying these up as soon as they come out. The newest French series has been getting old and many of us are glad a new series is due out soon.
