Yesterday Nikki and I finally got to get our first taste of blood in UT3 together. We finally got a hold of a copy of UT3 on Xbox 360. We own UT3 on the PS3 and adore it but stop playing it once we realized it had no split screen. Nikki totally loves the extreme fast paced game with mayhem at every corner. Before parties at our apartment she’ll usually pop the game in just to get herself pumped up and get a few kills in. The PS3 version just failed completely for us when we couldn’t play together. The idea of buying another PS3 and another copy was a serious thought just so we could play together. Once I heard the 360 version would support split screen it was a dream come true. Although I would prefer the controller of the PS3 this will do enough. We ended the night with a couple rounds together. I’ll admit Nikki is no rookie too this game and will occasionally beat me in rounds. The last two rounds were intense with the mutator mode set to super fast mode. With my Samsung 120hz it was just MADNESS! The night ended with one of my best performances… MONSTER KILL. This is one of the most beautiful games out there in my opinion. I can’t wait to see if Gears of War 2 will match UT3 for us. I truly hope GW2 will support 4 person split screen with bots for multiplayer offline. My only complaint about the UT3 for 360 is that they only made it 2 person split screen and not 4. One thing that did surprise me is the ability to have your guest play with you on Xbox Live.
