Just received word that Circuit City is filing for bankruptcy. Man it feels good that I left the company. I just feel bad for some of my friends over there. Turns out some of them might be working for Samsung soon. Now to see if any good deals pop up if this is really true.
The list of other retailers on the list include Hollywood Video, Levitz, Sharper Image, Performance Team Freight, Linens n Things, & Bed Bath and Beyond.
Haven’t found a completely reliable source but I did find some articles pretty recent about it. Not to mention Circuit City did turn down the deal with Blockbuster and the list of company’s aren’t in the best of shape. It doesn’t seem completely made up.

I work for Circuit City. We ARE NOT filing bankruptcy, have no plans to, and there is no word on the Blockbuster attempt to buyout.
It’s all rumors and one person starts and MAN they run like wildfire. Don’t believe the hype…research for ligit articles, not opinions.
If you did research you would see the Part 2 article where it is clearly stated that this is a rumor so far and nothing is set in stone.
Also keep in mind the way the company is heading it’s not hard to see that it could be true.
Selling on a Depen % does NOT work and only put pressure on employee’s. Merging departments and creating CFA areas only exploits employee’s to learn more than one department and not give a raise when they are now more valuable.
Selling most laptops and PCs ‘pre-optimized’ or whatever you call it now is not fair to the customer because they see a price in the weekly ad and want it for that price. Only having select models that are NOT optimized is NOT fair. Most people don’t want all sorts of add ons and extra charges just to remove some basic software that comes with it.
If you’re in reputation management for CC please realize you represent the company and your tone was not the best.
